Benefits of Eating Apples
Autumn season brings quite a few options for our seasonal fruits and vegetables. Here are the benefits of the most popular item in the produce section.
Now that the autumn season is here, we have so many produce options to choose from in the States. Autumn means stone fruit season and I don’t know about you but those are definitely my favorite fruits. With the autumn season you can start the baking, the cooking, the canning, the decorating and more. I don’t know about you but from now until the middle of January all of my favorite produce makes me quite into the holiday season. And it all begins now.
Apples being the most well known of all the produce is where I thought that’s where I would start. They have so many health benefits, uses and you can even decorate with them or use apple in aromatherapy. Some even believe them to have a spiritual quality. Most noted in the Bible with the first man and woman. Other cultures find that they help increase protection in various ways. But health benefits and not just what your kids may have given their teacher a week or so ago of more particular interest.

Apples for Aromatherapy
The apple sent is also extremely beneficial for the body and mind when used for aromatherapy. Apples create a homey feel. Can reduce stress and anxiety while also helping with focus and energy levels. When diffused with essential oils the area can feel more relaxed and soothing.
Cooking with Apples
Cooking with apples can have a similar effect to aromatherapy but also with the added bonus of other elements and scents. Additional elements such as providing comfort food like apple pies or apple cider. Adding scents like cinnamon or oranges can add other therapeutic qualities that when accompanied with eating can bring about additional comfort, mental well being and the health benefits I mentioned earlier.

Growing up I was always taking care of the horses. Then when it came time to work I would go back and forth from horses to coffee in Seattle to food in California, bringing my horse and dog with me. After going to school specifically for publishing I decided to combine agriculture with food service and have been working to get the name of the great food artisans out to the foodies who adore them. From serving Michelin starred chefs to judging coffee competitions and helping restaurants open for the best possible set up for success that is possible, I’m all about food from the ground up. Always happy to help so let me know if you have a suggestion or would like more information on a topic that I can cover. Thanks for reading!
