This afternoon while it was 79 degrees and my son decided to play in the sprinkler outside with his bike, he came up on an issue he hasn't had before. A type of clematis growing, grafted into the base of the apple tree in our front yard.

Now it's not often "Mom" says stay away from that! So when I did, it seemed to really get his attention. But because he has eczema, and fortunately for us it's receding with age, he has to stay away from certain plants. More than just poison ivy or poison oak. This one type of clematis can cause red itchy welts pop up so fast you'd think the kid had lived!

So besides keeping Benadryl and calendula on hand, I thought that listing out the top potentially eczema-aggravating plants might be more helpful. That way you know what not to plant in your yard—or at least where to place them so your skin-sensitive humans don’t suffer.
