Solo & 1/2 Traveler
This new section will be all about traveling alone with a small human. And keeping it healthy.
Being a single parent I’m constantly just bringing the little one with me. Why stop doing what I do just because I have kids?! And there are a number of places that cater to travelers with kids anymore. So traveling alone is possible, doable and the kids love it. Plus, it’s hugely beneficial to little people for them to travel with you. The education alone is priceless. Course, if you have super chill kids like mine it’s always so much fun for people to stop you and say “Wow! [they] are quite the traveler!” I’ve also heard a number of times “Now that’s the way to fly!”
My daughter used to go through the airport with her blond hair on top of her head, Hello Kitty pj’s, Hello Kitty shades on and bunny slippers. Women were constantly stopping me to tell me that she had the right idea.
My son, however, is extremely busy and has my energy. Poor kid. (laughs) So when we travel he will actually ride the four wheeled luggage all the way onto the plane. Again, we hear “Now that’s the way to do it!” Then sitting in his seat he chews gum and does a hum while doing thee yawning motion. Never has problems with the cabin pressure that way. Now he constantly says “Go bye-bye on a plane, Mom. Fly first class!” That little guy was having all the ladies, flight attendants included, waiting on him. He’s that adorable! And he knows it!
I’ll be posting on all the little tips, tricks and such for how we travel and the good places to go that makes both Mama and my little man happy. So stay tuned.

Growing up I was always taking care of the horses. Then when it came time to work I would go back and forth from horses to coffee in Seattle to food in California, bringing my horse and dog with me. After going to school specifically for publishing I decided to combine agriculture with food service and have been working to get the name of the great food artisans out to the foodies who adore them. From serving Michelin starred chefs to judging coffee competitions and helping restaurants open for the best possible set up for success that is possible, I’m all about food from the ground up. Always happy to help so let me know if you have a suggestion or would like more information on a topic that I can cover. Thanks for reading!
I always like hearing from people about what they like and dislike. And with travel there are more preferences than most. So comment what you liked or disliked about your latest travel experience. Maybe I can write about it next to see if we can’t make travel even more fun!
